How Eve SellerOps uses the Selling Partner API.
Eve SellerOps connects to your Amazon seller account through the Selling Partner API, after you approve it in Amazon's own consent screen. This page lists the API roles we use, what each part of the app reads, the few things it changes in your account, and what we never touch.
The short version
- You authorise it, and you can take it back. We never ask for your Seller Central password. You connect through Amazon's consent screen, and you can disconnect from Eve's Settings page or from Manage Your Apps in Seller Central at any time.
- No buyer personal information. Eve does not request any restricted role and calls no endpoint that returns a buyer's name, address, phone number or email address.
- Your account's data stays with your account. Your listings, orders, prices, costs, stock, shipments and reimbursements are visible only to people in your Eve organisation, and only to those you have given the relevant area.
- Changes only when you ask for them. Eve changes something in your Amazon account only through a feature you switch on or a button you press: a repricing rule, a new listing for a product you chose to send, or an inbound shipment you build.
- Never sold. We do not sell Amazon data, share it with advertisers or use it to advise other sellers.
Roles we use
Amazon groups its API into roles. Eve uses these six, all of them non-restricted.
| Role | What Eve uses it for | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| Product Listing | Reading catalogue details (title, image, identifiers, dimensions), reading your listings and their issues, estimating Amazon's fees, and creating an offer on an existing Amazon product when you add it to a shipment. | Catalogue, Scout, Workflows, FBA fees calculator |
| Pricing | Reading the offers and Buy Box on products you sell or are evaluating, receiving Amazon's offer-change notifications for your listings, and updating your price within the minimum and maximum you set. | Repricing, Scout, Analytics |
| Inventory and Order Tracking | Reading your FBA stock levels, your active listings report and your orders (items, quantities, prices and status, without buyer details). | Catalogue, Performance, Analytics |
| Amazon Fulfillment | Creating and tracking FBA inbound plans and shipments, and reading FBA reports: inventory ledger, reimbursements, customer returns, removals and inbound problems. | Workflows, Recoveries |
| Finance and Accounting | Reading financial events (the fees, refunds and reimbursements Amazon records against your orders and inventory). | Performance, Recoveries |
| Selling Partner Insights | Reading which marketplaces your account sells in, so Eve connects to the right one. | Account connection |
We do not use Direct-to-Consumer Shipping, Tax Invoicing, Tax Remittance or any other role that gives access to buyer personal information.
What each feature reads and changes
| Feature | Reads from Amazon | Changes in your Amazon account |
|---|---|---|
| Catalogue | Your active listings, catalogue details, FBA stock, fee estimates | Nothing. Costs and prep notes you enter stay in Eve. |
| Performance | Orders and order items (no buyer details), financial events | Nothing |
| Analytics | One product's catalogue details, offers and your own order history for it | Nothing |
| Repricing | Offers and Buy Box for your listings, offer-change notifications | Your listing price, only for SKUs you enable, only between the minimum and maximum you set |
| Scout | Catalogue matches for the barcodes on your supplier list, offers and fee estimates for the matched products | A new offer on an existing Amazon product, only when you pick a product you do not sell yet and have that option switched on |
| Workflows | Your listings and their issues, inbound plans, shipments and their receiving status | The inbound plans and shipments you build, their packing and placement choices, and their labels |
| Recoveries | Inventory ledger, reimbursements, customer returns, removals, inbound shipments and financial events | Nothing through the API. Recoveries tells you what you can claim and keeps the evidence together. A claim is filed only when you choose to file it. |
What we do not do
- We do not request restricted data tokens, buyer addresses, buyer names, buyer emails or tax registration data through the API.
- We do not contact your buyers or send them messages.
- We do not show one organisation's listings, prices, costs, orders, stock or claims to any other organisation.
- We do not sell, rent or trade Amazon data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- We do not ask for your Seller Central password, and Amazon's tokens for your account never reach your browser.
One feature handles a document that does contain buyer details: if you use the VAT returns feature, Amazon's VAT Transactions Report comes from your own Seller Central account rather than from the API. Before anything is stored, Eve removes the buyer name, street address and invoice link columns and shortens postcodes to their first half, keeping only what the VAT return needs.
How the data is protected
- In transit: HTTPS only, between your browser and Eve and between Eve and Amazon.
- Amazon tokens: encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored. The key is held only on the production server, outside the database and the source code.
- Isolation: every request is scoped to the signed-in user's organisation on the server, and invited team members see only the areas the account owner has given them.
- Access logging: sign-ins, changes and every staff access to customer data are logged, without request bodies, passwords or tokens, and logs are kept for at least 12 months.
- Hosting: Amazon Web Services in London (eu-west-2). The database accepts connections only from the application on the same server.
When you disconnect or close your account
Disconnecting deletes Eve's tokens for your Amazon account straight away and stops all further requests to Amazon, including notifications. The data already imported stays in your Eve account so that reconnecting does not start from nothing.
Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your organisation and everything stored for it, including all Amazon data. It is a hard delete, not a hidden flag. Copies inside our backups expire as those backups rotate out.

The demo runs on a fictional account, so you can try every area without linking Amazon.
